Wilderness Heli

NZ$1950+/Day

Remote wilderness adventure for fit anglers with a scenic helicopter flight. Trip planning, fishing guide, transport (including helicopter), and all fishing gear. Backcountry Raft

Remote backcountry trip by raft for the fit angler. Trip planning, fishing guide, rafting guide, transport (including raft), and all fishing gear.   My husband and I had a great time fishing with Rob. He was kindly able to book us the night before, after our original plan changed. I had not been fly fishing before and really appreciated the time Rob took with me to teach and instruct me on the basics. He gave my husband some really great instruction as well, even though he already does know how to fly fish. My husband was able to land some huge fish and I became well practiced at landing a few myself that Rob had hooked for me. By the end of the day I actually was able to cast, hook, and land one on my own! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and Rob provided all the gear. And we also enjoyed his company and talking with him during the day and the drive to and from our fishing spot. Thanks so much Rob!

  I booked a day wilderness fly fishing with Rob Henderson and it was truly wilderness. Had an awesome day at the river with over 10 fish weighing up to 5 pounds, but there were even bigger ones. Despite I ha ve been fly fishing for several years, Rob gave me really helpful advice!

  After fishing this region for many seasons and guiding guests from his own lodge in Turangi, Rob Henderson knows the Tongariro River intimately - but more important is his wider experience guiding on many other smaller rivers with hidden access points not known to the public.  Highly recommended for back country trips.

Fill out and submit the booking inquiry form below, you will receive a confirmation email
We will reply to confirm availability and if the requested dates are not available, make some alternative suggestions
Your booking will be confirmed by email upon receipt of a 50% deposit, with the balance due the day prior to departure
For trips booked at short notice, a cash payment may be acceptable at departure - please check when booking
We will call to arrange the finer details the day before your trip at the latest, or earlier for helicopter and multi-day trips
Riverstone Fly Fishing Guides reserves the right to charge for negligent damage to any supplied gear

Cancellation Terms

We will endeavor to accommodate any changes to your itinerary and your booking at no extra cost though due to existing commitments, this may not always be possible
Direct bookings and deposits for cancellations within 10 days of departure are non-refundable, for earlier cancellations you will receive a full refund minus PayPal transaction fees
Travel agency bookings and deposits for cancellations within 30 days of departure are non-refundable
On rare occasions, trips may be canceled at short notice due to extreme weather conditions and a full refund will be given
